Bible Study

One would think that the study of the Bible would be priority one
for the preacher but in reality it often gets placed on the back burner as other
responsibilities take precedence. The preacher is often pulled in too many
directions- the care of the people, family, society, his own education, and
preparation for the sermon and other teachings that the time for true Bible
study is lost.

Therefore my goal is to simply read 1 chapter of the Bible a day. Because there are
1189 chapters that will take 3 and ¼ years to complete. Now I do not plan on
reading that chapter just one time but once before I get out of bed, another
time during the morning, another time in the afternoon, once more in the evening
and again in bed. Also I hope to cover one or two commentaries on that chapter
and maybe even a sermon or two. Well there is my challenge we will see how well
I can do. I will start in the Letter to the Philippians so you will have to scroll down
to check my progress.
