Amazon Kindle Electronic Book Reader
My 2010 Christmas present from Tina.
I like this device. First you can take with you many more books than you can read in a year. So far I have not bought any books because there are so many you can get for free. I have more than 40 books on this thing right now and it has cost me nothing.
There have been a couple books I would have purchased but they had Text-to-Speech turned off so there goes that sale. For example the book - Quantum: Einstein, Bohr, and the Great Debate about the Nature of Reality it lists for 27.95 and I will never pay that price. I was able to get it from MEL for free. But the Kindle addition was 9.78 and I would have paid that price however the Text-to-Speech was turned off so forget it.
I see today I could get it used for 12.95 but later it will be less so I will wait.
Now there are many free books on Amazon, classics and books that are passed their copyright. Also you can move files from your computer to read on the kindle for free.
There are also many samples of books to try for free. You download a chapter or two and see if you like the book before you make you purchase. Cool.
Another thing; There are free Kindle apps for your computer and some cell phones that let you read you books. I think you can have 6 devices on an account. So you forgot your kindle but have your cell? great. Read a few pages and it will sink with your kindle and update where you left off.
