Paul's Postcard to Philemon

5/30/2012

Sunday we will be looking at Paul's short letter to Philemon.
Outline
1. The Prayer of Thanksgiving
2. The Petition of Paul for Onesimus
3. The Promise of Paul to Philemon
Keyword: Forgiveness

Paul writes this letter to Philemon, a leader in the church of Colosse, to ask forgiveness for Onesimus - Philemon's run away slave.

Paul points out that just as the Lord forgave him when he became a Christian that he should now forgive Onesimus, who under Paul's teaching is now more that a slave - a brother in Christ.
